Abstract

In this paper we carry out a detailed analysis of the correction criteria followed by the Spanish Royal Academy in the hereinafter editions of its Grammar of the Spanish Language: 1771, 1796, 1854, 1870, 1883, 1911, 1917, el Esbozo de 1973 and the NGLE of 2009. For this purpose, a corpus of these linguistic models was compiled. The correction criteria were analyzed, classified and descripted so as to observe their importance and evolution throughout the years. The relevance of these principles as main factors in the configuration of the norm of the Spanish language was also examined.
