Abstract

The study of lexical uses in early medieval documentation allows us, among other things, to observe the interferences and code changes between Latin and Romance languages, as well as highlighting the internal variations of Castilian Spanish and define dialectical areas within the continuous northern language. To help reach conclusions in this area, we have at our disposal the lexical field related to water and its industries, drawn mostly from notarised documentation from San Salvador de Oña (Burgos), dated between the 9th and 13th centuries and reissued in the corhen corpus (Historical Corpus of Northern Spain).
